The snow was a surprise, but one we all enjoyed. We woke up to fresh snow every morning and spent 3 relaxing days in the small town.
It was there and then it wasn't. A few weeks ago our server crashed and four years of blog posts disappeared.
This year's short summer is coming to an end. The light has changed, and I can smell autumn in the air. Two days ago I woke up to thick fog. I thought we might not have as much to harvest this year, but there is more than I suspected.
Having never been further south than Tuscany in Italy, I was excited to experience Apulia. A dear friend of mine is from that region and when she decided to "go home" to visit her parents for a week, she invited me to join her.
"May I give you a surprise for your birthday?" my husband asked. "Oh yes", I thought. The last surprise he gave me for a birthday was also a lot of fun. I patiently waited until the morning of my birthday and then peeked into the envelope.
When I read that Aran of Canelle et Vanille would be teaching a food photography workshop in the Dordogne region in France this year, my heart started to pitter-patter. For a long time it had been my dream to learn from Aran and this was my chance.
